| Wow, this has not been updated in forever. I am trying my best to eliminate contractions from my speech. For faire, you know. Oh the sacrifices I make.
Pretty much everything done costume-wise. All I need to do is make my pants. Wow, verbals are so WEIRD.
Anywho, things are great faire-wise. Tad pissed at Nelson.
Everyone is in for a not-so-big surprise tomorrow.
NO CONTRACTIONS!!!! HUZZAH!
| So, ANYWHO...what's been going on at the Renaissance Faire for dear old Flintlock?
MUCH, my friends. MUCH has been going on.
Let's see...my costume idea got okayed by Amy, Costume Mistress Extraordinaire. Yay! I'm beginning w/ my headscarf, which is going to be green and beaded and applique`d out the wazoo.
And, thanks to a fine exercise from the Artistic Director of the Renaissance Faire, Greg Ramsey, I know much much MUCH more about how good old Flintlock moves, stands, walks, and what she thinks of herself. We had to identify an animal that our character is like through a series of ideas, and I came up w/ a white Siberian tiger w/ "jealousy green" eyes. Then we had to act like that animal, and revert the movement ideas into human movements, and for me that translated into keeping my hands in a bit of a claw shape. (Also, gesture wise, since I can't draw my gun, I just gesture around like I have my gun in my hand alot, or in the usual "gun" shape) We also decided from what center does our character walk, and Flintlock walks from her belly/hips, in a sort of a swagger. (This ended up looking like a catty femme Jack Sparrow, but it still looks quite fab) Each of us picked theme songs, and mine was the theme that Jack enters w/ in POTC, when he comes in on the boat. We also developed an image for our character, like a picture that would paint their life. Mine is Flintlock running down a pier, her flintlock pointed behind her at her old home where her stepmum was, running towards Grace's ship, and things on fire in the background (since fire is the element I chose for Flintlock's personality). Apparently, we can use this image to help get into character, and do this whole thing w/ imagining our animal in the picture as ourselves and stuff...It's very symbolic and such.
Flintlock's super-power is night vision. (that may seem random, but really, it isn't)
Well, anyway, that was the very long version of my character development, and how much the exercise helped me in my struggle towards Flintlock and her past and her person.
BUT ANYWHO. Yes, this week has been productive character wise and I need to do my dialect homework. Badly.

| So, last Saturday was pretty hot-awesome. Massive dandy time, minus the Change game, which like EVERYONE is having trouble with. Me accent isn't much better. Bah.
But I did make friends with Meghan (Morganne O'Malley), and we're going to play off each other alot, which will be really cool. She's a fab actress.
And then there was the picnic. That was pretty fun. Almost got hit with a volleyball.
But it started raining, and Sarah had left her window open (which she thought was only the front bit but was actually the WHOLE window).
We ran into a little cove of tarp by the Imaginarium, but then we saw the Hatchery was open, so we took cover in there. Pretty sweet.
Had to fancy font it up while i still had premium, serry.
OH, yay! I've been talking in my dialect, and it's much better! huzzah!
YAY FOR FLINTLOCK FIONA!!!
| Yeah, first official rehearsal today...pretty sweet stuff.
Found out more about everyone and what we will be doing at Faire, did a little improv, learned some things about the time, practiced greetings (sassed it up with my bowing instead of curtsying, MAN) received my Pyrate Bible, learned I was pretty cool kid, got my Cd to perfect my Irish accent.
Cannot wait until next full BF rehearsal. It's what's going to get me through the last bit of school.
ARRRGH, I BE FLINTLOCK FIONNA, CABIN GIRL TO GRACE O'MALLEY'S PIRATE CREW!
how's that for AWESOME.
Sadly, I don't get to hate Morgana O'Malley (Meghan) for being Grace's daughter, not that I really wanted to. She's like the sweetest person alive, and it's going to be crazy to see her play a part that isn't sweet as sugar. Bitchy rebellious pirate daughter.
I'm hoping to get to know everyone better. It was a fun day.

| First entry in the NEW XANGA...
Here there be pirates.
This is just a place to document my Faire experience and what's going on at Faire. This is going to be fun.
Well Monday, at the unofficial rehearsal, we played some games to get our brains moving. This is where I met Stefan, Eileen, and...ELI.
Eli is pretty cool. :D He's going to be the master of pirates this year.
Well, anyway, we all went to dinner afterwards, and we were talking to Eli, and about how Eileen was going to be the parasol maker, but be like a gadgeteer, and smuggle goods and make parasols with blades in them, etc, and how I could be her accomplice the "innocent", young Fiona Kavanagh.
LOL, this is going to be amazing. Kat is going to be a Swedish princess, and we were saying that she could play it like Paris Hilton. LOL.
AND KIWI AND I ARE GOING TO BE ABLE TO FIGHT!!!! YAY!!!!!
Uncle Glenn and I spoke how I could always be trying to get in with the Rogues and get pushed into the pool on the Boarshead Inn stage. LOL. That would be sweet.
Faire is going to be stellar.
First official rehearsal is Saturday. CAN'T WAIT!!!
